PIONEER COURTHOUSE SQUARE RENOVATION
Portland Parks & Recreation
Pioneer Courthouse Square, one of the jewels of Portland’s Parks and Recreation Department, is often called the City’s “living room,” hosting over 10 million visitors each year. After 30 years of major events, the Square was in dire need of renovation. Crews are making structural improvements, replacing the waterproof membrane and deteriorated brick plaza, and upgrading restrooms for safety and accessibility.
As Public Involvement representative for the contractor, Howard S. Wright, LCA supported the team in creating and implementing the Public Involvement Plan for construction on the Square. Through outreach including weekly e-blast updates, monthly newsletters, open houses, and social media outreach, LCA is carefully informing the public of upcoming activities to minimize the impacts of construction at this high-traffic site.
