Office of Civil Rights Disparity Study Outreach 2019
Oregon Department of Transportation
In 2019, the Oregon Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) Office of Civil Rights engaged Oregon businesses in discussions about disparities in contract opportunities between white firms and those owned by women and people of color. Utizing findings from an economic opportunity disparity study, ODOT proposes an overall DBE goal for its Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funded contracting.
LCA joined the Oregon Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) Office of Civil Rights in engaging businesses across Oregon in discussions about disparities in contract opportunities. Utilizing findings from the 2019 Disparity Study, LCA assisted ODOT in creating outreach and presentation materials to create opportunities for discussion with the Oregon business community. LCA and ODOT organized meetings across the state to present findings, field questions, and recorded feedback.
